The didactic-theoretical models of the design process used in the discipline of Architectural Design of the 4th semester of the School of Architecture are the result of studies developed within the scope of a Theoretical Reference Research Project and respective Group of CNPq Research whose main objective is to discuss and study the use of creative methods to solve complex problems aiming at innovation in the architectural design process.

The research covers the study of different design processes that favor creativity and innovation in different stages, fields and scales, and their means of representation. In turn, it presents, as procedures, the analysis, systematization, comparison, and review of strategies used in the didactic-theoretical models studied. In this context, two Models and three Strategies have been identified so far (Model Design Thinking - Design Thinking Strategy; Technological Model - Parametric Design Thinking Strategies and BIM Strategy) that initially started in 2014 from the study of analog techniques to stimulate creative thinking.

Associated with the aforementioned Research Group, the Reference Research also counts with the contribution of the master's dissertations and an ongoing research. This work is an account of these developments.
