Architects from both countries talks about the relationship between architecture, health and environment

Opening the new stage of the UIA2021RIO (https://aovivo.uia2021rio.archi/), the first China-Brazil discussion brought together the most relevant architects from both countries: Shao Weiping, Ma Yansong, Li Xingang, Xu Tiantian, Tainá de Paula, Carlos Eduardo Nunes Ferreira, Marcelo Ferraz and Gustavo Utrabo. The moderation was handled by Zhang Li, who is a keynote speaker at the 27th World Congress of Architects.

On the theme “Architecture for one’s life, for everyone’s life”, they spoke about the main changes in architecture in the post-pandemic, the concern with people’s health, the need to rescue original principles of the profession, such as “to protect and give comfort”.

They also highlighted the importance of the connection with the environment and the urgency of reducing social inequalities.
