International Union of Architects - UIA

The International Union of Architects (UIA) - UNESCO's advisory body on habitat and built space quality issues - is a non-governmental organization that brings together national architects' associations from 124 countries. Founded in 1948, the entity today represents about one million three hundred thousand architects from around the world.

In order to bring together architects and urban planners without any kind of discrimination, UIA is dedicated to the qualification and promotion of the profession, reinforcing the quality of the global architecture through the efforts of specialists from around the world who work in three commissions: architectural education, professional practice and international competitions.
