This work presents and discusses the fundamentals and strategies for setting up a culture of innovation and open, generous and inclusive pedagogical processes in the context of the first year of training in the Architecture and Urbanism course of a private Brazilian HEI, starting in 2017.

It is assumed that the pedagogical space should be viewed in a systemic way, in which multiple attributes work together for the success of the school. This synergy is manifested by the construction of a culture that (1) encourages experimentation and discovery by creating a feeling of belonging to a community and emotional security; (2) that fosters collaborative processes in multiple spheres of the school; (3) that has purpose and direction: the foundation of the disciplinary field based on ecology, inclusion and technology.

The methodological foundations that guide the teaching-learning processes in the course and the creation of a creative culture in order to have an engaged community, privileging process, experimentation and collaboration can be organized in four attitudes by the course: (1) be motivating and inspiring for students; (2) encourage the formation of critical and creative autonomy; (3) forging meaningful relationships in the academic community; (4) to increase students' confidence by recognizing their diversity in the learning processes. This way of operating, we understand it as a pedagogy of the sensitive.
