Paulo Mendes da Rocha, the most internationally awarded Brazilian architect, deserves many honors.

Especially in this 2021, when he dies months before his countrie Brazil holding, for the first time, the world’s largest meeting of Architecture and Urbanism.

On the occasion of the UIA2021RIO, the Maison d’Architecture, in Geneva, releases the catalog of the exhibition held by the institution in 2018, when it completed its ten years of activities.

Promoted with the support of the Embassy of Brazil in Tokyo and the Consulate General in Geneva, the exhibition ended the cycle of conferences on the great names of contemporary architecture.

And it was organized by the architect Catherine Otondo, friend, collaborator and specialist in the work of Paulo Mendes da Rocha. She composed a complete, elegant and very significant exhibition.

For Susan Kleebank, Consul General of Brazil in Geneva, the publication of the catalog by the UIA2021RIO represents a modest tribute to Paulo Mendes da Rocha’s important legacy for the world of architecture and for Brazil.
