Two brand new exhibitions have been organised especially for UIA2021RIO by the Alliance Française in Rio de Janeiro with the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service at the French Consulate in Rio de Janeiro and the Institut Français de Paris. Highlighting France’s contributions to architecture, urban planning, and landscape design, they are available by the links bellow and in the Dialogue with Society/The World in Dialogue section of the exclusive platform open only to registered attendees at UIA2021RIO.

French Architects for Export

This Exhibition showcases outstanding designs and winners over the past ten years at events produced by the Architectes Français à l’Export (AFEX) French architects association, including the Suzhou Cultural Centre in China, designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc; and the Kentira TGV station in Morocco, designed by architects Silvio d’Ascia and Omar Kobbite.

A French association supported by 120 architecture firms, the Architectes Français à l’Export (AFEX) association has over 200 members, as well as engineers, urban planners, landscape designers, interior designers, project managers and industrialists, for a total of more than 5000 practitioners.

As part of its mission, this association has been organising the AFEX Grand Prix for French architecture throughout the World since 2010. Together with associated events, this Grand Prix is a global showcase for the quality of French architectural output all over the world.

Albums of Young Architects and Landscapers

Organised every two years since 1980, this Exhibition presents the careers and designs of 25 French architects and landscape designers belonging to the younger generation. This initiative is supported by the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine.

These shows are the ideal context for showcasing young talents (under the age of 35), in France and abroad. The underlying concept is to foster innovation in a context that spotlights the unique characteristics of each design, together with its influences and processes.
